Application of Naftalan Oil

If patients are unable to take Naftalan baths, treatment is prescribed as general or local application of Naftalan oil under food wrap.

The oil should be applied in a thin layer to the skin. The treated area is exposed to artificial heat sources such as lamps or infrared radiators. The degree of heating can be adjusted by changing the distance between the lamp and the treated surface:

  • 50 cm – more intense heating,
  • 100 cm – less intense heating.

Procedure duration – 20-30 minutes. The treatment can be performed according to the following schedule:

  • two consecutive days with a break on the third day,
  • or every other day.

Course duration: 12–15 procedures.

This method does not significantly strain the cardiovascular system, making it well-tolerated even by patients with first-degree circulatory disorders.

Additionally, Naftalan oil, ointment, and toothpaste (based on Naftalan oil and produced by "NAFTALAN PHARM GROUP") can be used not only in hospitals but also on an outpatient basis or at home without polluting the environment.

Under the influence of naphthenic hydrocarbons, the following effects are observed:

  • a slight increase in total protein levels,
  • changes in the protein spectrum within the physiological norm,
  • normal levels of catecholamines in the blood and tissues,
  • an increase in amino acid content in the blood and liver.

Overall, no significant pathological changes occur in the body.

Naftalan Phonophoresis

Naftalan phonophoresis is successfully used to treat various diseases.

Naftalan oil serves as a contact medium.
The best clinical effect is achieved at an ultrasound intensity of 0.4-0.6 W/cm².

  • Procedure duration: 12-15 minutes.
  • Course duration: 10-15 procedures (depending on the severity of the disease).

Naftalan Vaginal Tampons

For gynecological diseases, Naftalan oil tampons are used.

Application method:

  1. Tampons are pre-disinfected in a special solution for 10 minutes.
  2. Then, they are soaked in Naftalan oil heated to 40 °C.
  3. Inserted into the vagina for 4-5 hours.

Course duration: 15-20 procedures.
